It is now November and the last time we updated the blog was after weeks and weeks of busyness and travel. It’s safe to say that aside from constant travel, things haven’t changed much. And for the most part, we’re not complaining. In fact recently, we had a first for the studio…live music. And that was so fun, we’ll be doing it again. But consistent photoshoots and video shoots followed by editing and managing those aforementioned shoots does create difficulties in keeping up with the normal, everyday tasks of managing and marketing a business. But today, we’re making time and space to share some images from the recent weeks. We sincerely hope that everyone is able to make some space to enjoy the cooler temperatures, the changing leaves, and life in general.

Raising a family in Arkansas has its outdoorsy perks. And the upcoming issue of Arkansas Wild Magazine highlights some of the ways families can embrace the great outdoors in our beautiful state. The craziness of the times we’re living in has definitely taken its toll on us all. But in the interest of finding silver linings, I would like to point out that this craziness has sure driven people to spend more time outdoors. And (from 6 feet apart), that’s a very good thing. I imagine people are discovering or rediscovering how beautiful our state actually is. It's always a fun adventure creating images for Arkansas Wild Magazine. I am continually challenged as a photographer when working with them and I am grateful for all of the beautiful places in our state that they send me to. Last week, I took a few days to detach from work and life. I camped out, slept in the truck, did some fishing (caught nothing), read some books by the river, played my guitar, sat by the fire, explored some scenic roads and made some photographs. By now, you all know that this sort of detachment is a part of my routine so I'll spare you the further dialogue and share some of my images from the week. Enjoy.

Say hello to the the fine craftsman at the company, Assemblage. Nestled in the beautiful hills of Madison County, this small company hand-crafts (in their own words), "bespoke wall coverings" for a wide range of high-end clients. I had the opportunity to hang out at their workspace, an older but renovated rural factory building and photograph them for Arkansas Made Magazine. Here's a few of my favorite images. Enjoy. 

Many know Scott Schroen (Shh-rain) as a tall, lanky mountain biking machine. As the General Manager of Phat Tire Bike Shop, it's true that he spends most of his time working in the cycling world. What you may not know about Scott though, is that he loves (and is equally talented at) wood working. And lately, he's been balancing out the stresses of work and life by quietly designing and building high quality wood furniture out of his well-equipped garage/workshop. His most popular product is the Ozark Chair which features the state of Arkansas in the design of the chair, beautifully carved out of wood and perfect for porch or lawn sit'n.
