Bike Arkansas | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

It's common knowledge among anyone that knows me well, that the opportunity to photograph anything bike related would be considered a dream job. And a couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to spend a couple of days doing just that.

BIKE Arkansas is a new publication being developed by Arkansas Times. And their first issue will highlight the nearly completed Razorback Greenway. My job was simple: Shoot the experience. And in order to shoot the experience, I decided be a part of the experience. So I loaded up a backpack full of carefully selected photography equipment and biked with a group of people all the way from South Fayetteville to Downtown Bentonville. And for all but a few small sections of nearly completed trail, we covered our distance on the Razorback Greenway.

Most of my cycling these days is done on the local mountain bike trails or on the neighborhood streets, pulling my kids in a bike trailer or commuting to the studio. And although I had heard a lot about the greenway and even eyed the numerous crossings and trailheads around, I had never actually RIDDEN on it. So it was with great anticipation and curiosity that I found myself on an early weekday morning, chauffeured by my wife to Fayetteville, my backpack full of equipment and my bike, atop the family car. And by the middle of the afternoon, I was sitting at Tusk & Trotter, enjoying a nice tall glass of ice water and reminiscing on just how awesome it is that we have such a scenic and pleasant, yet recreational and utilitarian bike trail to enjoy.

While one complete day was spent riding the greenway, the other days were spent capturing images of some of the local mountain bike trails and one of the areas oldest and best bike shops, The Highroller Cyclery. Here are a few images from my cycling adventures. Enjoy!
