Open Streets 2019 | Northwest Arkansas Editorial Photography

A few weeks ago the City of Fayetteville, Bike NWA and a number of other community partners recently hosted the first Open Streets event. What is Open Streets:

Open Streets promote healthy, active living through a series of free events held across the region opening the city's largest public space --its streets --to the non-motorized public in order to walk, bike, skate, and discover active transportation.

Bike NWA

Prairie St and Government lane were blocked off from 12 - 4 p.m. while over 1,000 residents showed up to play in the streets. People were encouraged to ride, skate, dance, practice yoga, try local foods. If you’d like to find out when Open Streets is happening in your area you can find dates here or get BikeNWA’s newsletter here.
