It was lots of fun spending the afternoon with these two. Thankfully, our blatant trespassing went unseen and unprosecuted. You only live once. Happy Weekend y’all.

Meet Jesse and Cori. Their only requests for their engagement photos were quirky, fun, a playground and some trees. After an afternoon of driving, exploring and adventuring, we managed to find "a few" trees, some questionable playground equipment and some other local oddities, which added up to loads of quirky fun. Well, Summer is in full swing. And for me, that means more commercial work, a few weddings here and there and some time to hang out with fun engaged couples like Austin and Bridget. Congratulations to George and Bea on their recent engagement. During last weekend's Holi Festival in Fayetteville Arkansas, George proposed to Bea where they actually met years ago. Amidst loud dance music and colored powder flying everywhere, George got down on one knee and asked Bea to marry him. 

I was in a tricky situation, because...

When your wedding clients need a few engagement photos for their save the date cards, you make quick arrangements, squish schedules and have some fun for an hour or so. That's just what Nick, Jessica and myself did earlier this year and it was a lot of fun. In the course of an hour, they rode bicycles, posed on construction equipment, sprayed a bottle of champagne and still had time to get some "lovey dovey" pictures before the sun set. Sometime soon when our schedules align once again, we'll hit the road for some more shenanigans and photographs. In the meantime, their family and friends have these lovely gems to look forward to along with their save the date cards. 

As photographers, we can't change the weather so we have to roll with the punches. No rain is ideal, but a best case scenario would be a little bit of rain on at the end of engagement photos. That's exactly what happened with Paxton and Laura a couple months back. We made it through 98% of the photoshoot before it started pouring down rain. I enjoyed hanging out with these two immensely and I can't wait to celebrate with them in a couple of months!

Say hello to Stephen and Tristen. To celebrate their engagement, we traveled to one of their (and my) favorite places on earth, The Buffalo River Valley. There, we explored a less-than-stable house, hiked the Lost Valley hiking trail and took a dip in the Buffalo River. (they did, I watched from the shore). Enjoy the photos.

Say hello to Anna and Macy. They both work professionally as graphic designers and they are both good friends of mine. They gave me unlimited creative freedom with their engagement photos and I had a lot of fun in the process. Here's a few of my favorites. Enjoy. 

For years, I've had the idea in my head to make a video for Novo Studio. The idea for the video was inspired by a voicemail message I created years ago that, in my mind, accurately describes why I would not be answering my phone. And to have a video that started from the voicemail message and then, journeyed into my life as a photographer and as a person seemed to make sense. Plus, I could put some music to it and avoid the awkward challenge of talking about myself and my business. 

But of course, life happened and with an incredibly busy season and twins, my idea remained an idea until I decided to take a creative sabbatical. When writing out my sabbatical bucket list, the creation of this video went right to the top and with the help of my dear friends and creative colleagues and my wife, I am happy to (FINALLY) share this video with you. Many thanks to Bryan Fittin, Jason Miller, Murray Williams and Kristen Thomas for making this whole thing possible. Enjoy.
