Over the course of the last 2 years, I've been working with Visit Rogers to create a library of imagery that they can use to market our beautiful town to the locals and the visitors alike. I recently had the opportunity to tag along on a video shoot and create a few new still images. And of course, that meant sampling some delicious food and drink as well. Based on my "market research", I highly recommend the following: Cooking Studio of Downtown Rogers, Levi's, Bocca, Ozark Beer Company, Iron Horse Coffee Company, and if you like food trucks, City Pump. But please...don't take my word for it, try them yourself!

Meet Monty, owner and operator of Crybox Fitness Studio. Crybox Studio provides private personal training and fitness lifestyle coaching to serve the needs of all types of clients. Monty utilizes his 20+ years of past business experience with his clients to help them set time-bound goals that are safe, measurable, reasonable and realistic. When an awesome bank and its awesome marketing agency hire you to photograph landscapes and community imagery for marketing purposes, you make the most of it and have fun in the process. For me, that meant road tripping, truck camping, exploring small towns and taking some time to sit by the water and watch sunrises and sunsets. Thanks to The Twiggs Group & Grand Savings Bank for sending me on this work trip that didn't feel like a work trip at all.

It's always a pleasure to work with the fine folks at the Fayetteville Public Library. Spending the day watching people and photographing them as they use the library in so many different ways is a great reminder of how blessed we are to have so many great resources and programs in our little region. Even if you are not a resident of Fayetteville, the library is well worth the drive there especially if you have kids. For more information, visit their website. 

It's always a fun adventure creating images for Arkansas Wild Magazine. I am continually challenged as a photographer when working with them and I am grateful for all of the beautiful places in our state that they send me to. I recently had the opportunity to work with the wonderful staff and incredibly bright students of the Thaden School. Prior to my time there, I had only a vague knowledge of the school, it's history and it's mission. But spending a few hours there was downright impressive. Here's a few images from the afternoon. Today, I am wishing my dear friends and next-door business neighbors a fond farewell and happy retirement. Trolley Line Bookshop was a local favorite long before I moved in next door. This was largely due to the personable owners, Pat and Myra Moran who never tired of making friends and involving themselves in the community for the better of everyone. Their shop had the cozy and quaint feel of a neighborly downtown business because it was genuine and not manufactured and their presence (as well as their incredible selection of interesting reads) will be sorely missed. Cheers and Best Wishes, you two and thanks for everything.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph (and eat) some of the delicious food at Sai Wok, a relatively new Vietnamese restaurant in Rogers. In case you're wondering, the food is just as delicious as it looks in the photos. Bon appétit.

I had the privilege of working with local music artist, Brittany Moore to create some promotional images for her to use on social media and on her new single, Where to Find You. A few Fridays back, she released her new single on iTunes and it's pretty darn great. Check it out here.

When one of your favorite clients hires you to go hike some pretty trails and take pictures along the way, you turn the assignment into a truck camping trip and take a few days to do it all. Such was the case earlier this year when I hit the road and journeyed from White Rock Mountain, to the Buffalo River Valley and then, onto Black Fork Mountain. Along the way, I slept in the back of my truck, cooked food on my my little Propane stove (minus the morning I splurged on a small town diner breakfast), and took some time to enjoy the scenery. 

There's not much I could say about the Mooney family that hasn't already been said. From their organization 99 Balloons, to their Atypical Podcast, they are well known and well-respected.  As an outsider looking in, it's easy to see the love that this family has for each other and for the world around them. They are an inspiring bunch and the life they live should challenge us all to see the people around us differently and beautifully.

I recently had the opportunity to work with political candidate Nicole Clowney, to create some photos for her campaign. I would attempt to summarize how cool she is, but her Facebook Page does such a good job that I feel I should simply copy and paste it here: 

This week, the workload is light and the need for adventure is high. So I am taking some time to drive, camp, paddle, pedal, explore and most importantly, breathe. The cool thing about this blog is that I can schedule posts ahead of time, to appear in my absence and I have taken full advantage of that technology. Happy Spring Break everyone.

I recently had the opportunity to hit the road and create a portrait series for the latest issue of Arkansas Wild Magazine. The upcoming issue, entitled Legends & Young Guns, profiles individuals in Arkansas who are extremely active and experienced in areas of outdoor sports and conservation. I'm convinced that you cannot live in Northwest Arkansas and not hear about The Preacher's Son, a fairly new restaurant and bar concept from the brilliant minds of The Ropeswing Group. The atmosphere is beautifully dramatic, yet homey and subtle. And the food...well the food is downright delicious. (You may recall a recent blog post for Food and Farm Magazine recipe for a salad that I couldn't stop eating.) Executive Chef Matt Cooper and his well-trained and good natured kitchen staff use locally sourced ingredients and insane amounts of creativity to create dishes as delicious to eat as they are beautiful to look at. I recently had the opportunity to hang out in the kitchen and create some images for the restaurant and today, I'm sharing a few of my favorites. Enjoy.

I recently had the opportunity to work on a publication project for Susan Schadt Press out of Memphis Tennessee. The project, a book chronicling the history and newly revitalized Shelby Farms Park, was recently completed and published. A couple weeks ago, I attended (and participated in) a book signing/launch event, a first for me as a photographer and as a living/breathing human. The finished product looks amazing and I am truly honored to be included in such a talented group of collaborators. Book design by DOXA.

Say hello to the the fine craftsman at the company, Assemblage. Nestled in the beautiful hills of Madison County, this small company hand-crafts (in their own words), "bespoke wall coverings" for a wide range of high-end clients. I had the opportunity to hang out at their workspace, an older but renovated rural factory building and photograph them for Arkansas Made Magazine. Here's a few of my favorite images. Enjoy. 

The historic downtown areas of Northwest Arkansas are alive with revitalization and growth. And thanks to the wonderful people at Highstreet Development and Stronghold NWA, a rather large building in downtown Rogers is poised to be a huge part of that process. Formerly known as "The Dollar Saver Building, the large structure is in the process of being gutted, cleaned out and outfitted for a number of retail and living spaces. A large portion of the building is slated to be the new home of Onyx Coffee's production and day-to-day operations while also housing a coffee shop. There are also rumors of an upscale restaurant, a bakery, a craft cocktail bar and loft apartments being planned for the structure. I was hired by Highstreet Development to photograph the building in its current state. Enjoy the tour.
