Candace is a wonderful human being and a true joy to be around. She is active and supportive in the community, especially when it comes to live music. The Natural State Criterium Series is back!!!

We had a blast covering the 2021 Red Bull Pumptrack World Championship Qualifier event last weekend. Congrats to all the participants and winners for showing up, riding hard and giving us plenty of opportunities to capture the action, excitement, emotion and friendly atmosphere. A couple weeks ago, we had the unique opportunity to spend time with two of the world’s great professional cyclists, Rahsaan Bahati and Eliot Jackson. The two riders spent the week hanging out and enjoying our area’s various cycling amenities while also working with the our area’s local chapter of BikePOC and BikeNWA, to promote the process of creating intentional spaces for BIPOC and other marginalized peoples to explore cycling in Northwest Arkansas.

It was an inevitable reality that we’d focus at least a few of these posts on our work in the cycling industry. Today, we’re reliving last summer’s Arkansas Enduro Series and hoping that this year’s series will still be able to happen, at least partially. Back in August we got to do a few headshots for the Northwest Arkansas Young Professionals Summit. The Summit, in it’s 4th year, provides young (and old) professionals with personal, philanthropic and professional tools so they can learn to better serve their community. Here I met Dr. Todd Jenkins or Bowtie Todd. He is the Chair of the NWA Young Professionals Summit and founder and CEO of Bowtie Leadership. Bowtie Todd needed a new headshot and some additional content so during one of the summits break-out sessions we moved some lights around and threw a few bowties. Today on the blog: A few images from the 26th annual Mercy Charity Ball. This year marked our 10th year of photographing the event and as always, the festivities did not disappoint. Enjoy the brief recap.

A few weeks back, Thaden School celebrated a Homecoming event. Unique to this year’s event is that, well, it was the first one ever. With no graduating classes as of yet, the school decided it would be the perfect opportunity to show off their new campus and in a sense, have their own version of a homecoming celebration. Families of students were invited to tour the campus and share a meal together. As an added bonus, the school also invited the architects responsible for the campus buildings to come and talk through the creative process of bringing the school’s vision to life in the form of the campus architecture and design. We spent the afternoon, capturing the new buildings, documenting a little campus life and snapping a few photos of the evening. Today on the blog: A few recap images from last weekend’s inaugural “Vanarchy in the Ozarks” event. Vanarchy in the Ozarks aims to celebrate the growing #vanlife community of the Ozarks and beyond by hosting a casual and engaging gathering of van-lifers and weekend warriors. For the first time but certainly not the last, locals and visitors from afar ventured to the secluded beauty of the Lake Leatherwood campgrounds in their vans, trucks, cars and even a modified school bus for a couple days of camping, camaraderie, and outdoor adventure. For some, the outdoor adventure aspect of the weekend meant participating in another inaugural event known as #Slaughterama, an all-day, downhill endurance mountain bike race that took place on the Lake Leatherwood trails. For others, the outdoor adventure was more leisurely consisting of morning yoga, tacos provided by the Sherpa’s Taco Truck, a slow ride around Lake Leatherwood and hanging out around the fire. Regardless of how their time was spent, the weekend was certainly a lot of fun for everyone. Here’s to more!

Rogers is our home and it has been for some time. Every year, the annual Frisco Festival brings hundreds of people to our beloved downtown and this year was no different. But things are changing for the better and for the second year in a row, Visit Rogers has added to the Frisco Festival experience by providing unique experiences and events to showcase some of the people and products that make our town unique. And as always, we loved the chance to walk around photograph it all. Cheers.
