The craziness of the times we’re living in has definitely taken its toll on us all. But in the interest of finding silver linings, I would like to point out that this craziness has sure driven people to spend more time outdoors. And (from 6 feet apart), that’s a very good thing. I imagine people are discovering or rediscovering how beautiful our state actually is. Road Builders - A small personal project.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to contribute to the editorial imagery of AY Magazine. Based out of Little Rock but covering the entire state, AY Magazine is Arkansas' top resource guide for food, travel, arts, entertainment, music, culture and living. Here’s a few recent images. Inevitably, I create more images than I have time to post here on the blog. So this post is dedicated to headshots/portraits that I’ve made over the last few months. Protip: If you own a Toyota Landcruiser, you should definitely use it in your headshots. Enjoy.

Congratulations to Shelby King, who is getting ready to graduate college and spend a few months in the beautiful country of Ireland. And yes, she's taking that pretty orange bike along for the adventure. So of course it was only fitting that the bike be in her graduation portraits as well. Here's a few of my favorites. I had the privilege of working with local music artist, Brittany Moore to create some promotional images for her to use on social media and on her new single, Where to Find You. A few Fridays back, she released her new single on iTunes and it's pretty darn great. Check it out here.

I recently had the opportunity to hit the road and create a portrait series for the latest issue of Arkansas Wild Magazine. The upcoming issue, entitled Legends & Young Guns, profiles individuals in Arkansas who are extremely active and experienced in areas of outdoor sports and conservation. This is my first post in awhile, thanks to busy season. I'm hoping to catch up on the blog as well as update my own website as well. Today though, I'm sharing a few images that I created for Marlon Blackwell's new website. (Site Design by Doxa) Enjoy. 

For years, I've had the idea in my head to make a video for Novo Studio. The idea for the video was inspired by a voicemail message I created years ago that, in my mind, accurately describes why I would not be answering my phone. And to have a video that started from the voicemail message and then, journeyed into my life as a photographer and as a person seemed to make sense. Plus, I could put some music to it and avoid the awkward challenge of talking about myself and my business. 

But of course, life happened and with an incredibly busy season and twins, my idea remained an idea until I decided to take a creative sabbatical. When writing out my sabbatical bucket list, the creation of this video went right to the top and with the help of my dear friends and creative colleagues and my wife, I am happy to (FINALLY) share this video with you. Many thanks to Bryan Fittin, Jason Miller, Murray Williams and Kristen Thomas for making this whole thing possible. Enjoy.

It is always a sincere honor and joy to celebrate the anticipation of a new baby with dear friends. And the Trewetts are some of the best friends you could ask for. They enjoy exercise, adventure and all things Kansas City. Their new little girl has a great life ahead of her and we are excited to be a part of it. Congrats you guys. 

Say hello to Alex Dixon, a senior at Bentonville High School. She's smart, and she has the busy schedule of AP and College classes to prove it. But what you'll probably never guess about her, is that she LOVES hardcore rap music. On a recent evening, I had the opportunity to hang out with Alex and her family and create some senior portraits. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy. 

Many photographers (myself included) have jumped on the Sam Hurd bandwagon by waving glass prisms in front of their lenses while creating images. And why not? It's unique, unexpected and given the right light, can produce some beautiful results. But on a recent video shoot, I discovered that you could create a similar effect by using a Nalgene Water Bottle.
