We recently had the opportunity to work with the fine proprietors of The Buttered Biscuit to create some images for their upcoming article in AY Magazine. Their location off of Moberly Lane in Bentonville has been a hot spot for some time now and their second location, now open on Airport Road is gaining traction as well. At either location, you’re bound to find really delicious food made with responsibly sourced ingredients and a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere. Here’s a few images from the shoot. Enjoy.

A few weeks back, Thaden School celebrated a Homecoming event. Unique to this year’s event is that, well, it was the first one ever. With no graduating classes as of yet, the school decided it would be the perfect opportunity to show off their new campus and in a sense, have their own version of a homecoming celebration. Families of students were invited to tour the campus and share a meal together. As an added bonus, the school also invited the architects responsible for the campus buildings to come and talk through the creative process of bringing the school’s vision to life in the form of the campus architecture and design. We spent the afternoon, capturing the new buildings, documenting a little campus life and snapping a few photos of the evening. Today on the blog: A few recap images from last weekend’s inaugural “Vanarchy in the Ozarks” event. Vanarchy in the Ozarks aims to celebrate the growing #vanlife community of the Ozarks and beyond by hosting a casual and engaging gathering of van-lifers and weekend warriors. For the first time but certainly not the last, locals and visitors from afar ventured to the secluded beauty of the Lake Leatherwood campgrounds in their vans, trucks, cars and even a modified school bus for a couple days of camping, camaraderie, and outdoor adventure. For some, the outdoor adventure aspect of the weekend meant participating in another inaugural event known as #Slaughterama, an all-day, downhill endurance mountain bike race that took place on the Lake Leatherwood trails. For others, the outdoor adventure was more leisurely consisting of morning yoga, tacos provided by the Sherpa’s Taco Truck, a slow ride around Lake Leatherwood and hanging out around the fire. Regardless of how their time was spent, the weekend was certainly a lot of fun for everyone. Here’s to more!

We recently had the opportunity to do some editorial images for an article on Mindi Dearing of the Beaver Water District. Here’s a few of our favorites. The District works with Bentonville, Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers and their customers to bring safe, clean drinking water, sourced from Beaver Lake, to homes and businesses throughout Northwest Arkansas. Rogers is our home and it has been for some time. Every year, the annual Frisco Festival brings hundreds of people to our beloved downtown and this year was no different. But things are changing for the better and for the second year in a row, Visit Rogers has added to the Frisco Festival experience by providing unique experiences and events to showcase some of the people and products that make our town unique. And as always, we loved the chance to walk around photograph it all. Cheers.

It’s a new school year. And with a beautiful new campus, new faculty and students and a new website from Adair Creative on the horizon, the fine folks at Thaden School needed some updated imagery to use. We spent a few days exploring the new campus and hanging out with the faculty and students. Go Barnstormers!

Today on the blog, we’re sharing a recap of the Red Star Enduro Race. This particular event was held on the beautiful and secluded trails of the Buffalo Headwaters. These are without a doubt, some of the most beautiful and remote trails in the state. As you might imagine, there were some logistical challenges but we overcame them unscathed, minus the loss of a walkie talkie. Enjoy the photos and recap video below. Cheers!

When I first visited Bar Cleeta, it was before they were officially open and we focused on photographing their delicious food and drinks. A few weeks back, I paid another visit to focus on the finished space. Of course there was also food and drink involved but this time, it went straight to my tummy. Congratulations to writers Lacey Thacker and Sara Mitchell on the launch of their brand new book, Rooted: Central Arkansas Farm & Table. We’ve had the honor and privilege for working with them along with Etalia Press on this project, meeting the wonderful farmers, chefs and creatives, hearing about their stories and their contributions, and photographing them for this book. The resulting publication was released last week to the public via a special party held (in true Rooted fashion), at an outdoor garden. Today on the blog: Say hello to a few of the men and women who proudly serve our wonderful city by working for Rogers Water Utilities. Clean water is a vital part of our lives and the men and women pictured here work very hard, oftentimes behind the scenes, to make sure our city has the highest quality water and the best infrastructure for delivering that water. Drink up!

Another recent project from this month was spending some quality time with the talented and ambitious students from the University of Arkansas Honors College. It never ceases to amaze me the level of thinking and dedication these students apply to their lives and to their learning. I spent the day hearing about how they are trying to make the world a better place while also photographing them in their natural environments. It’s days like this that remind me why I love my job so much.
