Throwback Thursday / Apple iPod
Today's #throwbackthursday post is a tribute to one of the late, great stepping stones to portable music. When it was first released, Apple's iPod was advertised as "1000 songs in your pocket." Nowadays, it's quite a few more songs than that + a phone + a web browser + almost everything else. I've owned a few iPods over the years, a couple of which I still have stashed somewhere in the attic. The one pictured proudly sits atop an Apple HiFi Speaker system in the studio and plays music when needed. The pictures show a lot of wear and tear on this guy but nothing compared to those Merrell Boots.
Cheers everyone.
Arkansas Wild Spring 2017 | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography
About the only time I don't mind getting up at 4am is if I'm heading into the great outdoors. Such was the case recently when myself and a few local rock climbers headed out to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch for some rock climbing and some photography for Arkansas Wild Magazine. Here's a few images from the day. Enjoy.
Throwback Thursday / Merrell Boots
Say hello (and goodbye) to this awesome pair of Merrell boots. This Throwback Thursday post is a tribute to the years and the miles that they faithfully served me.

Engagement photos are always fun. And of course it's extra fun when you find and abandoned shopping cart during your adventures. Thanks for a fun-filled afternoon, you two and Congrats!
Throwback Thursday / Beastie Boys Cassette Tape
Welcome to a new weekly feature here on the blog. Throwback Thursday has been an instagram "thing" for awhile now and I think it's great. But I'm going to elaborate on it, by making a weekly personal photography project. Every week, I'll be...
The Honeycomb Kitchen Shop | Northwest Arkansas Photography
Say hello to the Honeycomb Kitchen Shop. A newer establishment in the Downtown Rogers, area, Honeycomb is everything you will love about a boutique kitchen shop with a few added bonuses...
Trolley Line Bookshop | Northwest Arkansas Photography
I must confess, with a fair amount of embarrassment, that visiting, photographing and writing about this wonderful next door neighbor of mine has been on my to-do list for quite sometime. Sure, we see each other in the comings and goings of everyday downtown life. When my kids were born, Myra (one of the owners) showed up at my studio with some gifts. And there happens to be a sign on my door that instructs personnel to deliver my packages next door when I am not present to accept and sign for them. To that end, you could say that I visit the bookshop next door quite a bit. But I’ve made a bad habit of never stopping long enough slow down, take it all in and enjoy the cozy atmosphere and the wide selection of books at my almost-immediate disposal. And that is a shame, because I love books.
Sabbatical Update #1 | Northwest Arkansas Photography
Currently, I am reading too many books at once, working on a couple commercial and personal projects, and enjoying the variety of winter/spring weather patterns that only our little corner of the state can provide. Happy Wednesday.
Happy 2017, I'm on Sabbatical
After incredibly busy Spring, Summer and Fall seasons of work and life, I am starting 2017 by taking a self-imposed "Creative Sabbatical." This simply means that for the first 2 months of the year, I will be accepting work on a limited basis with the intention of using the rest of my time to decompress, recharge, learn some things and rework some aspects of Novo Studio. I will also be taking more time to focus on creating personal photographs. (Translation... more driving, exploring and trespassing). I will be posting a few updates here on the blog and on social media. As for my personal work, you can feel free to follow along on my website, on my Flickr page and on my Instagram page. Cheers to a New Year, see you soon.

Happy 2017 | Northwest Arkansas Photography
2016 was a big year. In fact, it was the biggest for me on record. I also celebrated a milestone work anniversary this past year...10 years of being in business as Novo Studio. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for making it all possible. Cheers, well-wishes and a Happy New Year!

The Year in Rewind // Arkansas Lifestyle and Commercial Photography
It's that time of year again; The time of year where I try to recap an entire year's worth of photography work in a couple of blog posts and by doing so, post WAY too many photos. First up, a look back at my year in Lifestyle and Commercial Photographs. Enjoy.

Record Event Space | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography
A few months back, I had the opportunity to photograph one of Bentonville's newest renovations. The building, formerly home to the Benton County Daily Record Newspaper, is now a hip new event space simply known as "Record". And thanks to The Ropeswing Group, the transformation from derelict and empty to posh and modern is simply stunning. The space has already played host to a couple major events, the Made By Few Conference and the International Mountain Bike Associations World Summit and no doubt the new year will bring more. Here's a few images I collected from my time there. Enjoy.
Ian & Karly | Northwest Arkansas Engagement Photography
You can't tell just by looking, but it was blistering cold on the day Ian, Karly and I met up for their engagement photos. I don't mind being cold. In fact, I'd prefer that to hot and sticky any day. And although Ian and Karly preferred the "wintery look" to spring, summer, or fall for their photos, I suspect...
Nick & Alyssa | Northwest Arkansas Engagement Photography
Today on the blog: I'm flashing back to a few weeks ago when the temperatures were still warm and the fall color was just starting to show off. Here's a few of my favorite images from my afternoon with Nick and Alyssa. Enjoy!
Habit Outdoors | Northwest Arkansas Lifestyle Photography
I recently had the opportunity to work with the fine folks at Evolt Creative and Habit Outdoors to create some imagery for a new website launch. However, I do use the term "work" very loosely, as this project should've been classified as more of an adventure than an actual job. For 2 days, myself and a videographer (Matt Jeppsen) were turned loose on a 1500 acre property on the King's River complete with ATV's, models and apparel. So you see? Adventure, not work :) Here's a few of the resulting images. Enjoy.
Happy Thanksgiving | Northwest Arkansas Photography
