Hydrate & Create | Northwest Arkansas Photography

Many photographers (myself included) have jumped on the Sam Hurd bandwagon by waving glass prisms in front of their lenses while creating images. And why not? It's unique, unexpected and given the right light, can produce some beautiful results. But on a recent video shoot, I discovered that you could create a similar effect by using a Nalgene Water Bottle.

Here are the details.

Perrodin Supply Co. | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

Say hello to Jonathan & Amber Perrodin. Together, they are Perrodin Supply Co. And for the record, they are also responsible for The Little Craft Show and #TeamSpringdale. They work out of a beautifully rough workspace that they call, "The Hatchery". Located in the downtown Springdale area, the Perrodins spend their days creating beautiful things. Amber has a background in Printmaking and also enjoys creating mixed media pieces while Jonathan enjoys woodworking and makes canvases and wooden decor.

I had the opportunity to hang out with Jonathan and Amber in their workspace, camera in-hand. Here are a few images from our morning together. Look for them in the upcoming issue of Arkansas Made Magazine.

Phat Tire Race Team | Northwest Arkansas Editorial Photography

Say hello to the Phat Tire Racing Team. But make it quick, because they'll be long gone before you get to the double ll's. These riders are the real deal. They train together, race together, hang out and even volunteer together. And while they train on all of the nearby trials, their home turf is the Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike trails of Bentonville Arkansas. This particular trail system is certified as a Silver Level Ride Center by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), making it a destination for out-of-towners and local riders alike. I recently had the opportunity to hang out with some of the riders that make up the Phat Tire Racing Team and I managed to get them to slow down enough for a few photos. Look for the complete story in the upcoming issue of Bike Arkansas Magazine. Cheers.

AERT | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

We've worked with AERT on a couple of different occasions over the years and we recently had the opportunity to work with them again. AERT is a company that converts reclaimed plastic and wood fiber waste into quality outdoor decking and railing systems, fence systems, and door and window components. Our photography work with them over the years has consisted of visiting homes that feature their products and photographing their products on-location. Our recent work with them however, involved not only on-location photography, but also in-studio product photography which we had a blast with. Here's a few selected images from our recent and not-so-recent work with this innovative company. Enjoy.

Organizing Your Everyday | Northwest Arkansas Video Production

For a few weeks now, we've been working on a super fun project and today, we're excited to share. One of the greatest joys of working with products is that we get to not only tell their benefits and features through a story, but we get think of ways to bring the product itself to life. Such was the case with the Zipper Bag by Cumberland Concepts

Bear State Bank | Arkansas Commercial Photography

I recently had the opportunity to travel around the beautiful state of Arkansas with the Fayetteville based design firm DOXA, to create images for the new Bear State Bank. Bear State Financial recently purchased a few different banks in Arkansas and Oklahoma and they wanted to incorporate imagery of all the employees in their new internal and external marketing materials. Over the course of a 2 week period, I had the opportunity to travel to the different branches, meet the employees and photograph them in their work environments. Today, I'm excited to share some portraits of the incredible people that I met while working on this project. Thanks to DOXA for the opportunity and congratulations on the creation of a beautiful brand.

Today, we are excited to share some of our favorite images from our 2014 Commercial Photography jobs. Along with Wedding Photography, Commercial Photography has become a main focus in our business. We love it because there is SO MUCH variety, it's almost impossible to be bored with it. And with every Commercial job, whether it be office head shots, product shots or commissioned work, we ALWAYS welcome the opportunity to learn as much as we can about businesses and markets other than our own. Here's to the end of a great year and the beginning of another.

Clairol / Behind the Scenes | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

Last week, I had the unique opportunity to create behind-the-scenes images on a movie set. For 2 days, Director of Color for Clairol James Corbett was in town to create video content showcasing Clairol products and teaching viewers how to color their own hair using them. Help One Now | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

A couple weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege of spending the evening with the good people of Help One Now. Help One Now is an organization dedicated to caring for orphans and vulnerable children. They accomplish this by empowering and resourcing high-capacity local leaders in order to transform communities and break the cycle of extreme poverty. Although the organization is based elsewhere in the United States, Help One Now has a large number of supporters and board members here in Northwest Arkansas. It's always awe-inspiring to spend time with people who are so passionate about loving and caring for the lost and forgotten people of this world and this organization does that SO well. Here's a few images from the evening. For more information on the organization or to get involved, click here.

2014 Mercy Charity Ball | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

For the last few years, I've had the privilege of attending and photographing the annual Mercy Charity Ball. This year, the event was especially unique in that I was able to personally identify with the cause having recently spent quite a bit of time in St. Edwards Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. As usual, the evening was filled with food, fun and great projects to donate money towards. Here's a few of my favorite images from the evening. Enjoy.

Mount Kessler Cleanup | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

We recently had the opportunity to work with the Brittany Phillips Design and the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District on their new website. And after a series of shoots that required me to dress up, it was a nice change to put on some "get dirty" clothes and document some dedicated, hard-working volunteers as they cleaned waste out of a creek. Mount Kessler continues to undergo development by the city of Fayetteville and last week, volunteers along with members of the Beaver Watershed Alliance and the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District gathered at one of the areas to clean waste out of a creek.

For three hours, volunteers braved the plummeting temperatures wandering, wading and collaborating to haul out as much debris as they could. At the end of the night, there was pizza, hot chocolate and even a small raffle with some prizes. But most importantly, there was the camaraderie of like-minded individuals coming together around a common goal, to help keep Arkansas beautiful. Here's a few images from the event. Enjoy.

Boston Mountain Solid Waste District | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography

The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District (BMSWD) is one of eight regional districts in Arkansas designed  to provide environmentally sound and economically feasible solid waste management. BMSWD recently went through a re-branding phase, courtesy of Brittany Phillips Design and we were hired to create imagery for their new website and marketing materials. The website called for landscape imagery of the Boston Mountains and also, images of the types of recyclables that the BMSWD handles. If you've ever wondered what type of things you could dispose of at BMSWD or if you just like the Boston Mountains, feel free to peruse the following images.
